Manchester resident Patrick van Rooyen has been hired as the New Hampshire Job Corps Task Force Coordinator.
Dick Anagnost, Chair of the state's Job Corps Task Force, said van Rooyen, a former award-winning Director for the past six years with New England Centers, will lead several projects for the $35 million federally-funded education and job training facility being built on Dunbarton Road in Manchester.
A resident of Manchester for the past 11 years, van Rooyen brings a wide range of international economic and workforce development experience and business skills to the job, said Anagnost.
"Patrick has been frequently cited as one of the country's most successful Job Corps leaders, and we are very pleased to have him working for us as we put together a Community Relations Council and an Industry Advisory Council," said Michael Power, president of the Workforce Opportunity Council.
van Rooyen has been cited several times for his Job Corps work, including:

van Rooyen's first assignment is arranging the August 30 visit of Job Corps National Director Dr. Esther Johnson to New Hampshire, where she will meet with Governor John Lynch and members of the Job Corps Task Force.
